Government Communication Affairs Minister, Bereket Simeon said Ethiopia has been working hard to achieve Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

Bereket made the statement while conferring here on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 with the delegation of All Chinese Journalists Association presided over by Duan Wen Bin.

He told the delegates that 180,000 students are attending their education in higher learning institutions existing because of the expansion of in the education facilities.

He said the number of university, which was only one 12 years ago, has now reached 21 universities in the country. Ten more universities are under construction.

Bereket said the government has been working hard to attain political, social and economic developments.

He said Ethiopian along with global institutions has been playing prominent role in regional and international fora.

Bereket said Ethiopian could learn a lot from China, which has been able to achieve fast economic development, it has embarked up development since that last 30 years.

Bereket briefed the group in details the vision the country has and the economic growth in which it attained in the last seven years, among others.

The head of the group said the members of the group were happy by the briefing.
