Ethiopia’s first quarter export earnings for the fiscal year 2010/2011 (8th July 2010–7th July 2011) increased by 64% compared to the previous year.

According to the Ministry of Trade, Ethiopia exported products worth $563.4 million during the first three months (8th July–7th October 2010), as compared to $342.7 million from the previous fiscal year.

Income from oil seed exports has grown by 274%, followed by 183% income growth from mineral exports, excluding gold and tantalum. The foreign currency earned in the past three months from gold exports has increased by 172%.
